HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1971-07-26 (8) RESOLUTION NO. 377 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF TIBURON DECLARING ITS INTEREST IN THE ACQUISITION OF STRAWBERRY COVE. WHEREAS, the area known as Strawberry Cove is possessed of great scenic beauty and, in addition, has an inestimable ecological value; and, WHEREAS, its presently unspoiled nature has created a naturally convenient and necessary environment for varieties of waterfowl and other wildlife; and, WHEREAS, Strawberry Cove is located near an area for which the Marin County Planning Commission has recently approved intense development; and, WHEREAS, it would appear to be in the best interests of the public that Strawberry Cove remain as natural open space for use as a public park and recreational area; and, WHEREAS, Strawberry Cove is located within an area which may be annexed to the City of Tiburon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: THAT the City Council of the City of Tiburon does here- by express its interest in acquiring Strawberry Cove for natural open space and public park and recreation area and does extend to study and pursue such acquisition upon the successful annexa- tion of that area to the City of Tiburon.
