HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1972-10-10 (5) T- 9 (rev. ) RESOLUTION NO. 475 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION WHEREAS, by proceedings duly had and taken, a special municipal bond election (herein called the "elec- tion") in the City of Tiburon (hereinafter called the "City") was held on October 3, 1972, in accordance with law, and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared in all respects as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tiburon, as follows: 1. The City Clerk of the City is hereby instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of this Council as a statement of the result of the election. 2. The total number of ballots cast in the City at the election was 1,820 ballots. No ballots were spoiled and not counted. 3. At the election the following measure was submitted to the qualified voters of the City and the num- ber of votes given in the City for and against said measure (including absentee votes) was as follows: Total Vote "YES" Total Vote "NO" MEASURE A: (Land Acquisition) Shall the City of Tiburon incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of $1,250,000 for the acquisi- tion, construction and completion of the fol- lowing municipal improvement, to wit: Real property for open-space and recreation?l purposes? 1,327 493 4. The number of votes cast in each precinct and by absentee ballot for and against said measure was as follows: BOND MEASURE Precincts YES NO 3001 472 103 3002 329 152 3003 199 69 3004 265 157 Total Precinct Vote 1265 481 Absentee Vote 62 12 Total Vote 1327 493 5. All absent voter ballots have been duly received and canvassed in time, form and manner as required by law, and the result of the absentee vote for and against said measure submitted at the election is as set forth above. 6. More than two-thirds (2/3) of all of the votes cast at the election on said measure were in favor of 2 said measure, and said measure passed . PASSED AND ADOPTED October 10, 1972, by the follow- ing vote: AYES: Councilmen Aramburu, Fanning, Littman, Sennett NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Becker i~tfiJqf ! Tiburon, California ALBERT H.
