RESOLUTION NO. 587
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TIBURON AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION
OF THE CITY OF TIBURON IN THE MARIN COUNTY
CENTRAL INVESTIGATION UNIT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tiburon desires to par-
ticipate in a certain project desig..ated as l1arin County Central Inves-
tigations Unit to be funded in part ii...om funds made available through
the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL90-355, as
amended, PL 91-644, (her€after y'eferred to as the Safe Streets Act)
administered by the California Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter
referred to as CCCJ).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Hayor of the City of
Tiburon was authorized on it's behalf to authorize use of City owned
equipment and personnel for Law Enforcement purposes to be utilized in
conjunction with the written procedures and policies of the Central
Investigation Unit; with the understanding that the City of Tiburon
accepts any liability which may be incurred for said equipment and per-
sonnel while engaging in the duties as will be required by this Unit.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City of Tiburon agrees to
provide it's share of matching funds required for said project (including
any extension or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act and the
rules and regulations of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Adminis-
tration and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Tiburon held on November l2th , 1973, by the
following vote:
