Section 1. Pursuant co the provis~ons of ChapteL ~
Article I, Sections 51500 to and including Section 51507 c~
the Government Code of the State of California, the City COL:~-
cil of the City of Tiburon does hereby elect that the duties c-
assessing property and the collection of real property and uns~-
cured personal property taxes in the City of Tiburon be and tn~
same are hereby transferred to the Assessor and Tax Collector 0:
the County of Marin, the County in which said City is situated.
Section 2. The City of Tiburon shall pay to said County
of Marin such compensation as may be fixed by agreement between
the Board of Supervisors and the City Council of the City of
Tiburon and the making of such agreement is hereby authorizeG.
Section 3. Certified copies of this ordinance shall upon
its adoptlon be forthwith filed by the City Clerk with the County
Auditor, County Assessor and the County Tax Collector of the
County of Marin on or before the first Monday of the month of
February following its adoption.
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Tiburon finds
and declares that this Ordinance is required for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, safety, general welfare and con-
venience of the City of Tiburon and its residents, and the follow-
ing is a statement of facts constituting such emergency:
The City having been recently incorporated, finds it ne-
cessary to make immediate provision for the assessment and col-
lection of real property and unsecured personal property taxes
in the City of Tiburon in order to provide revenues needed to
efficiently operate the City, and at the present time no such
provisions have been made.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective imme-
diately.
This Ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the Council
of the City of Tiburon on June 23, 1964, and was ordered posted
in at least three public places in said City of Tiburon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Tiburon on the 23rd day of June, 1964,
