ORDINANCE NO.~N.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TIBURON AMENDING TITLE
II, CHAPl'ER 7, SECTION 7-2 OF THE TIBURON CITY CODE,
BY INCREAS ING THE TRANS lENT OCCUPANCY TAX FROM A
RATE OF FOUR PER CENT TO FIVE PER CENT.
The City Council of the City of Tiburon does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Amendment.
Title II, Chapter 7, Section 7-2 of the Tiburon City Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
rrSection 7-2. Tax Imposed.
. For the privileges of providing occupancy to
transients within the City, a tax is hereby imposed on
the operator of any hotel at the rate of five per cent
of the total amount of rent collected by such operator
for the providing of such occupancy.;:
Section 2. Separability.
If any section, provision, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance is, for any reason, declared to be invalid, such decision
shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, sentences,
clauses or phrases of this ordinance, it being the intent of the
City Council of the City of Tiburon that this ordinance sballs tand
notwithstanding the invalidity of such section, sentence, clause or
phrase.
Section 3. Operative Date.
This ordinance shall become operative on July 1, 196B, at
12:01 A.M.
Section 4. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon its passage, pursuant to the provisions of Section 36937(d) of
the Government Code, and before the expiration of fifteen (l5) days
after its passage, the same shall be published, with the names of
the members voting for and against the same, at least once in a news-
paper of general circulation published in the City of Tiburon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tiburon held on June 10 , 1968, by the fol-
lowing vote:
