HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Ord 1966-02-28 ORDINANCE NO. 50 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TIBURON ESTABLISHING AND ORGANIZ ING A PLANNING AGENcY AND COMMISS ION The City Council of the City of Tiburon does ordain as follows: Section 1. There is hereby established a planning agency and a planning commission for the City of Tlburon. Section 2. The planning agency of the City of Tiburon shall be the planning commission of the City of Tiburon. Section 3. The planning agency and the planning commission shall consist of seven members. all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor. with the approval of the City Council, and may be removed from office by the Mayor, with the ap- proval of the City Council. Section 4. The term of office of the first ~ember appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24, 1968. The term of office of the second member appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24, 1968. The term of office of the third member appointed to the planning agency 'and commission shall expire June 24, 1967. The term of office of the fourth member appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24. 1966. The term of office of the fifth member appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24, 1969. The term of office of the sixth member appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24, 1968. The term of office of the seventh member appointed to the planning agency and commission shall expire June 24. 1967. Successors to the first'appointed members of the planning com- mission shall hold office for four years. Section 5. All actions heretofore taken by the City Council, and the planning commission, and all appointments of the Mayor, taken under the provisions of prior ordinances and resolutions, and other applicable law, are hereby ratified. approved and confirmed. Section 6. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction) such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance. The City Council of the City of Tiburon, State of California) hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase thereof) irrespective of the fact that anyone or more other sections, subsections, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. Section 7. Any and all ordinances and resolutions which may be inconsistent herewith are hereby superceded to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 8. This ordinance is to take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage the same shall be published, with the names of the members voting for and against the same) at least once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Tiburon. There is hereby established a planning agency and a planning commission for the City of Tiburon. Section 2. The planning-agency of the City of Tiburon shall be the planning commission of the City of Tiburon. Section 3.
