MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
Town of Tiburon
Project Review Program
Sonoma State University for the Northwest Information Center(KWIC)of the California Historical Resources Information
System agrees to assist the Town of Tiburon("Town")in fulfilling a portion of its regulatory obligation in regard to
cultural resources,as related to the preparation of an Initial Study,as per 14 CCR§ 15063. This agreement does not cover
record searches conducted by this office for National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 compliance or other federal
environment review.
Staff at this office will review information on the NWIC's maps and in its files and databases based on a project description
and a boundary defined and submitted to the NWIC by the Town. The NWIC information should not be considered
comprehensive. The Project Review response letter will present a summary of current historical resource and report data
for the project area;provide an evaluation of the potential for unknown cultural resources;and give project-specific next-
step recommendations.
Archaeological resources are nonrenewable and often easily damaged. In order to prevent destruction, vandalism, and
artifact hunting, and to protect landowners from trespass by people seeking access to archaeological sites, the Agency
agrees to keep the locations of archaeological resources confidential, consistent with all applicable laws,by insuring that
they will not be included in reports or files available to the general public. In addition, the Town agrees that access by
Town personnel to this information should be on a need-to-know basis.
This agreement will be in effect until December 31,2018. Projects will be reviewed at the rate of$75.00 each and will be
billed on a monthly basis. The results of the NWIC Project Review will be conducted within seven calendar days and will
be conveyed to the Town in letter format. Larger projects, such as General Plans or Specific Plans,or those with multiple
parcels included may result in additional costs depending on the area needed for the analysis. NWIC will not exceed
$500.00 on the cost f any larger project without prior written consent from the Town.
